Hallgrímskirkja Kirke

Hallgrímskirkja is an Icelandic church. The church, with its 74 m high distinctive tower, is Reykjavík’s landmark.

From the tower there is a view over the city and, in clear weather, all the way to Snæfellsjökull.

The church is named after the poet Hallgrímur Pétursson and designed by the architect Guðjón Samúelsson, who also designed the church in Akureyri.
