To a generation of S-train passengers, PFA’s iconic buildings have marked the entrance to Copenhagen.
The renovation was carried out for PFA Pension A/S (a Danish commercial pension company) by the general contractors Adserballe & Knudsen, in cooperation with the companies Sweco, Årstiderne Arkitekter and Oluf Jørgensen, among others.
ot only did the project incorporate replacement of about 2,000 windows and 4,000 square metres of roof, but it also covered the building of a new sports hall, connecting bridges between the buildings, a new auditorium, roof terraces and 3,000 square metres of new aluminium facades etc. In addition, the interior of the buildings was completely renovated with focus on creating a more open and at the same time raw and industrial look.
